About SalaryTax

Why we built SalaryTax: UK salary and tax calculators built from HMRC and gov.uk published rates, with regional detail and inflation context.

SalaryTax exists to give people in the UK a clear, trustworthy way to understand their pay after tax — without the clutter, dated interfaces, and shallow explanations found on other calculator sites.

What makes us different

  • Regional accuracy: separate handling for England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland.
  • Figures computed from the rates HMRC and the devolved governments publish, with each tax year's rules citing their gov.uk source. SalaryTax is independent: HMRC does not review or endorse it.
  • Inflation context: see how your pay compares in real purchasing power.
  • No account required, no analytics or advertising cookies unless you opt in (see the privacy page for the cookieless signal sent before that), no sluggish interfaces.

See our methodology for how every number is calculated, our authorship and verification page for how the site is researched and maintained, or read our guides for deeper topics.
